Redwood Strategy Group, Inc. is hiring a Financial and Accounting Systems Analyst V to support DHRA Financial Management and Financial Operations. This position is designed for a Financial Reporting SME with extensive experience with Fund Balance w/ Treasury, Trading Partner Reconciliation, JV analysis, etc. 9-10 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis and reconciliation of AR and AP. • Review and analyze USSGL postings and account balances. • Prepare and process journal vouchers and accrual accounting entries. • Perform account reconciliations, investigate abnormal balances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform intragovernmental transaction reconciliations and research discrepancies. • Support the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and related supporting schedules. • Respond to audit requests by researching transactions, preparing supporting documentation, and coordinating timely responses. • Work collaboratively with DFAS and DoW stakeholders to resolve accounting issues. • Support the Financial Reporting Team with recurring and ad hoc accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting activities. • Assist in evaluating, documenting, and improving internal controls over financial reporting. • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and desk procedures. • Perform financial reconciliations and quality control reviews to provide reasonable assurance of the accuracy and completeness of DoW financial statements. • Analyze accounting transactions and recommend corrective actions. • Learn new financial systems, policies, and accounting requirements quickly. • Support other accounting and financial management tasks as assigned, including developing and uploading financial reports.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting or federal financial management experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accrual accounting, and General Ledger concepts.
- Experience performing account reconciliations, financial analysis, and researching accounting discrepancies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative remote environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
