About The Role

Role purpose

Lead or support the functional implementation of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management capabilities, converting portfolio and project-management practices into governed ServiceNow processes. The consultant will focus on portfolio and demand management while supporting agreed release, procurement, financial, resource, and Jira integration requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops covering strategy, portfolio, program, demand, project, resource, financial, release, procurement, and delivery-tool touchpoints within the approved scope.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, governance forums, prioritization criteria, investment decisions, stage gates, approvals, exceptions, and reporting needs.
  • Configure or guide configuration of ServiceNow SPM capabilities for demand intake, assessment, prioritization, portfolio planning, project/program governance, resources, financials, and benefits where applicable.
  • Define functional requirements and data mappings for project, portfolio, demand, resource, cost, schedule, milestone, risk, issue, and status information.
  • Define business requirements and acceptance criteria for release-related, procurement-related, and Jira interfaces; coordinate technical realization with architects, developers, and integration owners.
  • Support legacy portfolio/project data migration analysis, cleansing decisions, validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
  • Prepare user stories, functional design, process flows, configuration workbooks, reports, dashboards, notifications, roles, and traceability records.
  • Support testing, UAT preparation, defect triage, demonstrations, training, adoption, and handover.
  • Advise stakeholders on practical use of out-of-box capabilities and identify requests requiring customization, additional licensing, or change control.
  • Develop the end user training material and conduct end user training sessions before or after going live.
  • Provide demonstrations, knowledge transfer, administrator guidance, and functional handover documentation.
  • Maintain clear assumptions, dependencies, decisions, and scope boundaries throughout delivery.

Mandatory experience and knowledge

  • At least 5 years of project, program, portfolio, PMO, or enterprise-work-management experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow SPM/PPM implementation exposure.
  • Hands-on experience in both project management and portfolio management, including governance, prioritization, scheduling, financial/resource considerations, and executive reporting.
  • Demonstrated ServiceNow implementation experience in Demand Management, Portfolio Management, Project/Program Management, Resource Management, or related SPM capabilities.
  • Experience defining workflows, approvals, stage gates, scorecards, reports, dashboards, roles, notifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Understanding of integration and data-migration requirements for enterprise portfolio/project environments.
  • Strong workshop facilitation, documentation, stakeholder-management, and UAT support capabilities.
  • Fluent Arabic language proficiency, spoken and written, is mandatory for this role given direct workshop facilitation with Arabic-speaking portfolio, demand, and business stakeholders.

Preferred experience

  • Experience integrating ServiceNow SPM with Jira or another agile delivery tool, including ownership, direction, synchronization, and reconciliation considerations.
  • Experience with release governance, procurement touchpoints, financial planning, resource planning, benefits realization, or application portfolio management.
  • Experience replacing or migrating from Clarity, Planview, Microsoft Project, spreadsheets, or similar portfolio/project tools.
  • Experience in regulated or complex enterprise environments and multi-vendor delivery models.
  • Ability to review ServiceNow configuration and flows and communicate effectively with developers, architects, and integration teams.

Academic and professional certifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Required: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • Required or to be obtained within the agreed onboarding period: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Strategic Portfolio Management (CIS-SPM).
  • Required: Recognized project-management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent.
  • Strongly preferred: Portfolio/program or agile certification such as PfMP, PgMP, MoP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent relevant to the candidate’s assigned scope.
