Position Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical, technically adept, and self-driven Business Solutions Analyst to lead the discovery, design, documentation, and delivery of business and technology solutions that drive organizational objectives, operational efficiency, and digital transformation initiatives. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders, product teams, and technical delivery resources, translating complex business needs into scalable, data-driven, and technology-enabled solutions. The successful candidate possesses a strong blend of business acumen, systems thinking, and technical analysis skills, with the ability to independently lead requirements elicitation, process analysis, solution design, and implementation activities.
Business Analysis, Requirements & Solution Design
- Lead discovery sessions to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, technical, and non-functional requirements.
- Develop and maintain business and technical documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze business processes, systems, data flows, and integrations to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate solution options and ensure alignment with business objectives, architecture standards, and security requirements.
- Maintain requirements traceability and support change management throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead and support cross-functional initiatives from discovery through implementation and post-production support.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, solution reviews, and project planning activities.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Support solution implementation, user readiness, training, and organizational adoption.
- Monitor outcomes and recommend continuous improvements to processes and systems.
Application, Systems & Technical Analysis
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge of core business applications, integrations, and supporting technologies.
- Perform system analysis to assess application functionality, data dependencies, integrations, and operational impacts.
- Act as a subject matter expert on system capabilities, configurations, workflows, and best practices.
- Support system enhancements, upgrades, implementations, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors and technical teams to define and document integration requirements, business rules, and solution designs.
- Investigate business and system issues through structured analysis and root-cause identification.
- Analyze process inefficiencies, system limitations, and data-related challenges.
- Recommend sustainable solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and business outcomes.
- Provide post-implementation support and continuously identify opportunities for process and technology improvements.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test case development, execution, defect management, and stakeholder sign-off.
- Validate that solutions meet approved business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Partner with development and QA teams to ensure complete requirements coverage and traceability.
- Support release readiness, implementation validation, and post-deployment issue resolution.
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Leadership
- Lead stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to gather, prioritize, and validate requirements.
- Build consensus on business needs, solution scope, priorities, and implementation approaches.
- Present recommendations, impact assessments, and solution designs to stakeholders and leadership.
- Obtain approval of business, functional, technical, and process documentation.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and requirements changes throughout delivery.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required
- Strong business analysis, requirements elicitation, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to create clear, complete, and traceable business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of enterprise applications, systems integrations, data flows, and technology-enabled business solutions.
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies, UAT processes, and Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives to successful outcomes.
Training / Education / Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, business systems consulting, or a similar techno-functional role.
- Proven experience leading requirements gathering, process analysis, solution design, and technical documentation activities.
- Experience working with enterprise applications, system integrations, data flows, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and supporting solution implementations.
- Experience in the commercial insurance industry and certifications such as CBAP, PMP, or Agile certifications are assets.
Compensation
The estimated salary for this role is $59,000 - $77,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual pay rate may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience
