Under the supervision of the Research Director, the Research Assistant 2 will be performing research activities and is required to supports and supervises members of the lab ( Research Assistant 1 and Undergraduate and Graduate students)

Position Summary

  • Actively participates in the execution of the ongoing research projects;
  • Is responsible for various administrative tasks (including budgets, management of meetings, and focus groups, minute-taking, and grant/protocol writing);
  • Supports and supervise Research Assistants 1 with their research projects;
  • Provides training to new recruits, students and staff;
  • Establishes research methods, designs protocol, advances research and breaks new grounds;
  • Troubleshoots research issues and resolves problems in design;
  • Develops models and runs simulations;
  • Reviews and evaluates research findings and determines results, prepares reports and manuscripts
  • Participate in local, national and international collaborations;
  • Participates in group meetings and in the general day-to-day management of research projects;
  • Accomplishes any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Life Sciences, Bioengineering or a related field
  • Experience in project coordination and management;
  • Experience in data analysis and statistics;
  • Solid experience in scientific writing (peer-review publications and grant applications);
  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision
