About The Role

This position is a temporary assignment for a period of six (6) months, beginning in July and ending in January.

JOB SUMMARY

This position works closely with the Department Lead/Specialist/Management to hit important dates, help with utilities, pre-press, color mixing, printing-running equipment, and communication of any issues/problems that may arise. Responsible for assisting in other areas of the company if needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Color mixing
  • Color mixing / working with stylists to achieve desired results
  • Perform drawdowns to create color samples for deadheads
  • Refill standard ink containers
  • Printing
  • Operate machinery
  • Clean screens
  • Take direction from Hand Screen Lead / Specialist
  • Pre-press
  • Set up files and maintain screen log
  • Burn in screens
  • Re-tension, build, coat and reclaim screens
  • Utilities
  • Build screens
  • Cut paper
  • Change squeegees
  • Deliver embossed hand screens to stylists / custom department
  • Work with the Lead / Specialist to hit department goals
  • Communicate all problems and issues as they arise
  • Work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma, GED
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • 4-year degree with printing / art focus is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, pivot/twist, use foot and hand controls.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. floor to waist, lift at least 23 lbs. knuckle to shoulder, lift at least 23 lbs. shoulder to overhead, carry at least 23 lbs., and push and pull at least 40 lbs. of force ALL on a FREQUENT basis
  • Must pass a physical demands test

MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS

You must demonstrate the following sensory requirements to perform manual tasks: color discrimination, depth perception, near vision, field vision, temperature discrimination, tactile discrimination, and talking/interacting with others. Must pass a Color Hue Acuity Test

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work activities occur in an inside workspace where extreme heat and cold may occur. There are stairs or an elevator for accessibility. The atmospheric conditions include wet/humid conditions and fumes.
