Plumber Technician - JLL

What this job involves

A plumber installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Install and repair water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and related appliances and fixtures.
  • Read blueprints and building specifications to determine work details and materials needed.
  • Installation work includes fitting pipes, assembling components, and connecting fixtures like sinks, toilets, water heaters, and dishwashers to water supply and drainage systems.
  • Maintenance and repair form a significant portion of the role.
  • Diagnose issues by inspecting systems, identifying problems like leaks, clogs, or malfunctioning equipment, and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Clear blockages using specialized tools, replace worn components, and ensure systems operate efficiently and meet code requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
  • Physical capability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy materials, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Understanding of plumbing codes, blueprint reading, and familiarity with various piping materials (copper, PVC, PEX) and installation methods.
  • Basic knowledge of related systems like HVAC and gas lines.

Work Environment

  • Responding to emergency calls, working irregular hours, and adapting to challenging conditions like cramped spaces or outdoor weather.
  • Customer service skills matter considerably since you will frequently interact directly with clients.

Estimated compensation for this position

67,475.00 – 67,475.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
