About The Role

The Administrative Coordinator for the Center on the Biology of Aging provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Director and its faculty including complex project management, laboratory research support, instructional and professional activity support, and event planning. This person will serve as the lead contact representing the Center, which includes over 30 faculty across Brown University departments and to VIP guest speakers including rising star scientists the Center wants to recruit. Duties include processing orders for Center faculty laboratories, event planning, developing and maintaining the Center’s website, maintaining publication data bases, scheduling and planning travel arrangements, monitoring of account budgets, reconciliation of ledgers, invoices and purchase orders, processing of invoices and expense reports, course support, manage listserv/Center on the Biology of Aging email, takes meeting minutes, manage director’s calendar, and other administrative and operational support duties. This person may also be asked to assist in ad-hoc projects as needed, including backup for departmental events.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years administrative support experience, preferably in an educational environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Workday experience is preferred.

  • Strong computer skills including Word Processing, Financial Programs, database management and web-based applications.
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to think independently and creatively
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • CRIMINAL BACKROUND AND EDUCATION CHECK REQUIRED.
