Account Manager, Industries & IPP (Remote Opportunity for Sabah/Sarawak-Based Candidates)

We're looking for an experienced Account Manager to drive growth across Sabah and Sarawak within Hitachi Energy's Utilities, Industries, Independent Power Producers (IPP), and Service Business portfolio.

In this remote role, you'll build and strengthen relationships with key customers, uncover new business opportunities, and develop market strategies that increase sales, market share, and customer satisfaction.

Working closely with local and regional teams, you'll play a key role in expanding Hitachi Energy's presence across East Malaysia while regularly engaging with our office in Petaling Jaya.

What You'll Do

• Lead sales and business development activities across Sabah and Sarawak.
• Develop and execute customer-focused growth strategies for Utilities, Industries, IPP, and Service segments.
• Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Identify, pursue, and convert new business, cross-selling, and upselling opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Provide strategic insights on market trends, customer priorities, and competitive activities.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy policies and uphold our values of safety and integrity.

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of experience in key account management, sales, or business development within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or power sectors.
• Strong understanding of energy and electricity infrastructure projects, including commercial, contractual, and financial structures.
• Proven success managing complex customer relationships and strategic projects.
• Experience in consulting, infrastructure development, IPP, utilities, or related industries is highly preferred.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel across Sabah, Sarawak, and occasionally to Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Location

📍 Remote role for candidates based in Sabah or Sarawak with regular travel within East Malaysia and occasional visits to Hitachi Energy's Petaling Jaya office.
