Job Role: Buyer and Planner Non-Seasonal Coordinator
Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: The Buyer and Planner Non-Seasonal Coordinator is responsible for managing the forecasting, purchasing, and stock levels of core product lines to ensure consistent product availability and optimal inventory performance. Reporting to the Planning Manager, this role plays a key part in balancing supply and demand by analysing sales trends, planning stock requirements, and coordinating with suppliers. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining efficient stock flow while supporting the brand’s commitment to quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecast demand for non-seasonal product ranges based on historical data, sales trends, and business objectives.
- Plan and execute purchasing of stock to maintain optimal inventory levels and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Monitor stock on hand and track inventory performance across product lines.
- Collaborate with suppliers to manage order timelines, production schedules, and delivery expectations.
- Analyse sales data and inventory metrics to inform buying decisions and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, purchase orders, and inventory levels.
- Support replenishment planning to ensure continuity of core product availability.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g. operations, marketing, and e-commerce) to align stock planning with business needs.
- Identify risks or opportunities in stock levels and provide recommendations to the Planning Manager.
- Assist in improving planning and inventory processes to enhance efficiency and performance.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven experience in buying, inventory planning, or supply chain coordination, ideally within retail, e-commerce, or direct to consumer brands.
- Strong experience in demand forecasting and stock management.
- High level of analytical ability with proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and purchasing data.
- Ability to manage multiple SKUs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and coordination skills when working with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and resolve stock issues.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP platforms is advantageous.
- Understanding of sustainable or ethical sourcing practices is a plus.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
