Overview / Job Summary
The Adjunct Faculty, Electrical Systems, is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in electrical systems and related technologies. This role involves classroom and laboratory instruction, student assessment, and supporting students in developing the knowledge and skills needed for success in the electrical field.
The successful candidate will bring current industry knowledge and practical experience to the classroom while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Adjunct faculty assignments are based on course availability and enrollment needs. Course schedules and instructional assignments may vary by semester.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to
- Develop and deliver instructional materials and laboratory activities related to electrical systems.
- Conduct lectures and practical demonstrations to facilitate understanding of electrical concepts, codes, safety practices, and applications.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support student development.
- Incorporate current industry practices, technologies, and standards into instruction.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom and laboratory environment.
- Utilize technology and effective teaching methods to enhance student learning.
- Communicate effectively with students and faculty regarding course expectations and student progress.
- Support students in achieving their educational goals and developing skills necessary for relevant employment.
- Participate in required faculty meetings, training, and other activities as appropriate.
Requirements
Education
- Relevant teaching experience or industry experience in electrical systems or a related field required.
- Associate degree in electrical or a related field preferred.
Requirements, Knowledge & Skills Needed
- In-depth knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and applications.
- Experience with various electrical systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial installations.
- Current certifications in applicable electrical codes and standards, such as NEC, are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and colleagues.
- Ability to utilize technology and modern teaching methodologies to enhance student learning.
- Experience with instructional design and curriculum development techniques preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to student success, diversity, and providing a supportive learning environment.
