Position Summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support daily laboratory operations and lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role is responsible for supervising frontline staff, supporting operational excellence, and helping ensure efficient, high-quality service across multiple locations. The Operations Supervisor serves as a key leader within the region, providing coaching, guidance, and support to team members while driving workflow efficiency, quality standards, and a positive employee and patient experience.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and support a team of phlebotomists, laboratory assistants, processors, couriers, data entry staff, and team leads.
  • Coach, train, and develop employees to promote engagement, performance, and service excellence.
  • Help manage daily operations, staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, clients, and internal teams to ensure outstanding service.
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversee inventory, supplies, and operational resources to support uninterrupted service.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Support specimen collection, processing, and handling activities as needed.
  • Assist with operational projects, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of laboratory experience, including specimen collection and processing.
  • Two years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or medical setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and drive operational results.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.

Work Environment

This position works in a laboratory and patient service environment and may involve exposure to biological materials. Team members are expected to follow all safety and regulatory requirements.
