We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement EUCOM’s mission objectives.
Responsibilities
CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Network Engineer . This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is requires OCONUS travel.
This position is a unique Network Engineer position which gives the candidate the opportunity to engineer, build, operate and maintain several enterprise networks from the end-user device all the way through the network security stack to the include the data center infrastructure.
The Network Engineer must have extensive experience and technical knowledge of both Enterprise and Data Center networks in addition to network security technologies. This position is a hands-on technical position that provides technical expertise and leadership for enterprise network infrastructure at customer sites. The Network Engineer will work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and synchronization of efforts across several projects. The candidate must interface with both internal and external executive leadership.
The Network Engineer works with a team of network engineers, system administrators and voice engineers in support of several geographically dispersed regional networks. The selected candidate will ensure the maintenance of multiple network enclaves, consisting primarily of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls with support for other vendor products (e.g. KLAS, DTech, F5 etc.). The Network Engineer will design complex routing and switching schemes. The Network Engineer must have extensive experience working with DMVPN technologies, EIGRP, BGP and emerging data center architectures in addition to experience with network automation technologies. The Network Engineer is expected to troubleshoot complex problems to closure; the candidate must demonstrate strength in this area as part of the selection process.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing and supporting all switching and routing devices, firewalls, load balancers, and in-line network encryption devices. The Network engineer must have a fundamental understanding of network engineering concepts and be able to adapt to emerging technologies as they are introduced to the environment. The Network Engineer must configure devices in accordance with security policies; develop and maintain IP address schemes for all assigned network; and manage circuit provisioning throughout the delivery life cycle.
The Network Engineer must monitor capacity and utilization of network resources; provide trending and capacity planning services to analyze and plan for efficient utilization and management of the network. Troubleshoot and correct all detected or reported network faults or outages. Provide assistance via remote access, phone, or in person. The selected candidate will perform site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning and documentation services for the customer as they relate to all network services. They will be responsible for analyzing network protocols, routing standards and procedures, traffic patterns and data flow, and providing equipment implementation and upgrade recommendations.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will require strong interpersonal skills due to continual interaction with managers, clients, and users with varying technical backgrounds in a fast-paced work environment.
EUCOM operates multiple network enclaves, several of which provide critical Command and Control capabilities globally. EUCOM is looking to rapidly expand their network footprint and capacity. As part of this renewal, the command will introduce emerging technologies to manage, build, operate and maintain the infrastructure providing the candidate an unprecedented opportunity to grow their skills, be part of change that will shape how future DoD networks will be built, and see immediate results from their contributions.
The candidate will be expected to operate in a complex environment with multiple different organizations providing various aspects of service delivery to the customer. The candidate must be comfortable looking at problems from different angles to determine potential root causes, develop strategies to test your theories, and then effectively communicate that to other service providers.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently hold an adjudicated Top Secret /SCI Clearance and be able to maintain
- BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +7 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized experience
- Extensive operational experience maintaining network infrastructure
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- DoD IAT Level II or greater
- Cisco Certified Network Professional as minimum Computing Environment Certification
- Enterprise level experience designing, engineering, operating and maintaining network security infrastructures
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have
- ITIL v3 – Foundation
- Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
- Experience with DoD IT security requirements
- Experience managing metrics supporting Critical Success Factors (CSF)

The proposed salary range for this position is
$82,700 - 173,900 USD
