About The Role

First Hawaiian Bank is seeking a collaborative, customer-focused, goals-oriented Banking Consultant to join our Lihue Branch Team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional in-branch customer service experience by proactively engaging with customers to identify needs, demonstrating our digital banking options, fulfilling customers’ day-to-day transactional needs, as well as advising customers on the full range of financial products and services available to suit their financial needs.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Rotational Saturday (hours may vary)

Compensation

The pay range for the role is $21.50 - $25.50/hr, commensurate with experience; plus sales incentives.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional in-branch customer service experience by proactively engaging with customers to identify needs, demonstrating our digital banking options, fulfilling customers’ day-to-day transactional needs, as well as advising customers on the full range of financial products and services available to suit their financial needs.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Associate’s degree in a business-related field, equivalent work experience; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in a sales and service environment required.
  • 2 years of experience in cash handling required
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, referrals and sales required
  • Retail / branch banking experience in operations and sales or similar experience within the financial services industry preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking/financial products and services, and ability to comprehend and grasp finance and credit concepts preferred
  • Must project a welcoming presence when interacting with customers
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be digitally savvy, confident and well-versed on the use of digital banking technology to fulfill routine day-to-day needs.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-through
  • Agile and resourceful as it relates to working in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Upbeat and positive, growth mindset, and quick learner
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team
  • Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously
