Job Purpose

This position provides quality service to all TruStage employees (active, retired, and separated) and other customers (dependents, beneficiaries, retirees, terminated staff, contractors, Business Areas, and HR Staff) in support of our HR service-oriented mission. As part of a centralized integrated employee service center operation, the HR Service Center Generalist will be the first point of contact for all of our employees and customers.

This position requires an overall knowledge and understanding of our Health & Welfare and Retirement Benefits, Payroll and HR policies, processes and systems for all companies in the affiliated group. This position is responsible for the data integrity of employee personal and benefit information, annual benefit enrollment process, status event changes to plans, support and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), payroll processing and support of the Sales Compensation plans throughout the year. This position deals with a wide range of confidential information and needs to ensure compliance with our corporate privacy policies and HIPAA.

Job Responsibilities

​ Health & Welfare Benefits

  • Handle the annual enrollment benefit activities
  • Coordinate employee status changes
  • Administer leave of absences, including Short-Term and Long-Term disability, in accordance with local, state and federal law
  • Coordinate with the appropriate carriers/vendors

Retirement Benefits

  • 401(k) Plan Administration support
  • General Pension plan knowledge and support
  • Coordinate with the appropriate carriers/vendors

Payroll Process

  • Coordinate the timely processing of TruStage’s bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles, to include all aspects of successfully running a complete payroll
  • Complete payroll tax filings on the Company’s behalf
  • Assist employees with updates to W-4 election and direct deposit
  • Coordinate the successful production of all W-2’s

HR Systems

  • Administration of Learning Management System (LMS) through content creation, updates and archiving.
  • Content creation, updates and archiving in the HR Employee Portal
  • Provide employee support in HR Information System (HRIS)
  • Provide period reports for management and professional support staff
  • Identify, collaborate and solution for opportunities of improvement

General HR Support

  • Assist employees by phone, email, chat or in person pertaining to human resources policy and procedures, benefits, payroll, sales incentive, HR Information System (HRIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Identify, research, isolate and resolve complex problems associated with inquires.
  • Assist employees with HR processes including annual benefits enrollment, talent management, employee/labor relations, and compensation.
  • Maintain employee data integrity by completing a wide range of transactional services including all employment events, all employee life cycle benefit events, payroll transactions and activities to process and report incentives for advisors and credit unions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience.
  • 4-6 years progressive work experience in HR/Benefit (core Health and Welfare)/Payroll administration with call center/customer service experience.
  • Proven experience as a lead worker, providing coaching, mentoring and feedback to others.
  • Knowledge of core office automation software, i.e. Excel, word processing, attendance system, proficiency with the web, and benefits/payroll system software.
  • Demonstrated effective customer service relationship skills shown through listening to and understanding the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to express ideas, recommendations, and decisions to individuals and groups verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated skills in gathering pertinent data and identifying key issues or problems to make appropriate and timely decisions.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, effective organization, planning, and time management skills.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range

$56,500.00 - $84,800.00
