Position Overview

The Business Director will be responsible for the overall strategic planning, administration, financial performance, operations, and direction of new acquisitions, adding significant incremental Revenue and EBITDA to Building Products.

This individual will have full Refurb P&L accountability , lead a cross-functional team across multiple locations, and collaborate closely with leaders in Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations. Working alongside the current General Manager, this person will play a key leadership role in ensuring a smooth succession and long-term business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy to achieve growth targets, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the team with a focus on product innovation, market expansion, and customer value creation.
  • Work in collaboration with the Building Products leadership team to drive transformational initiatives and long-term strategic growth.
  • Own Refurb Pricing Strategy – Establish and manage market-based pricing across regions to maximize profitability, remain competitive, and capture the value of our refurbishment offering.
  • Own Tank Procurement & Inventory Management – Manage tank sourcing, purchasing, and inventory levels to ensure availability while optimizing working capital and minimizing excess inventory.
  • Analyze market conditions and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities for product line extension, M&A, and new business development.

Operational and Financial Management

  • Develop and manage financial plans, budgets, and capital investments to meet and exceed performance targets.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements through Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance metrics.

Logistics Management

  • Lead Regional Fleet Operations – Oversee company-owned trucking across multiple regions, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective freight execution.
  • Optimize Freight Performance – Drive improvements in routing, asset utilization, backhauls, cost per mile, and on-time delivery while balancing customer service needs.
  • Ensure Compliance & Accountability – Maintain DOT/regulatory compliance, establish consistent operating standards, and manage regional teams against key safety, service, and cost KPIs.

People Leadership

  • Build and develop a world-class team that embodies Worthington’s culture and values.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and empowerment.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor team members to grow the next generation of leaders.
  • Promote safety, respect, and inclusion as cornerstones of success.

Customer Focus

Education & Experience

  • 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing, LPG industry, or building products.
  • Experience leading multi-site operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in P&L management, operations leadership, and strategic business development.

Additional Information

  • Relocation to the Columbus, OH area is preferred.
  • Frequent travel throughout NA (North America) will be required to multiple distribution sites, industry events, and customer visits.
