About The Role

We are pleased to announce that the Finance Division Within the State Court Administrator’s Office (SCAO), is looking for a Statewide Grant Accountant. This position will be responsible for all aspects of grant accounting which includes budgeting, planning and the goals of this position are to provide grant analysis and reporting to ensure compliance with federal requirements and support the grant managers.

EXAMPLE OF JOB DUTIES

The following are examples of major duties for this position to perform

  • Account for all grant funds and prepare financial reports for all grants awarded to the Judicial Branch. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports and ensuring that all reports are filed accurately, timely and meet the requirements of the grant agreements.
  • Provide financial analysis to advise grant managers on budgets, ongoing expenditures, and matching requirements.
  • Monitor grant onboarding and post award requirements.
  • Process re-engineering and procedure reviews to meet federal and state controls and requirements.
  • Lead statewide grant meetings.

Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute. As an example, an associate’s degree with additional years of experience can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, public administration, business administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant management, court administration, or public administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of grant accounting and administration.
  • Experience in court administration.
  • Experience with Minnesota’s statewide accounting system, SWIFT

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of court administration.
  • Knowledge of grant writing, reporting and compliance measures.
  • Strong analytical skills for internal grant reporting and statistics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

SALARY

The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $31.84- $40.59 per hour ($66,482- $84,752 annually). The full salary range for this position is $31.84 - $49.30 per hour ($66,482- $102,938 annually). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Position Logistics

This position is classified as a Financial Analyst I and will work predominantly normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Work is typically performed in a hybrid environment with a mix of virtual and occasional in-person work, as business needs dictate. In-person work is typically required 2-5 times per month.
