Job Description
The Benefits Administrator plays a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience by administering and supporting Snap Finance's comprehensive benefits programs. This position serves as a trusted resource for employees, ensuring accurate benefits administration, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely resolution of employee inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and passionate about helping employees understand and maximize their benefits.
How you'll make an impact
- Administer and support the ongoing operation of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Serve as the primary internal coordinator for leave administration, partnering with UNUM, employees, managers, Payroll, HR, and other stakeholders throughout the leave lifecycle.
- Monitor active leave cases and coordinate employee communications, Workday updates, payroll impacts, benefits continuation, and return-to-work activities.
- Manage leave escalations and partner with UNUM to resolve discrepancies, service issues, and complex cases.
- Process employee enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and other benefits changes accurately and timely.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits and leave questions, providing clear guidance and an exceptional employee experience.
- Own day-to-day relationships with benefits and leave vendors, including escalations, service issues, implementation activities, and ongoing performance.
- Coordinate annual benefits renewal and Open Enrollment activities with brokers and internal partners, including plan changes, timelines, communications, system testing, and execution.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate benefits deductions, leave payments, and other benefits-related payroll transactions.
- Maintain accurate benefits and leave records and ensure data integrity across Workday and vendor systems.
- Support benefits billing reconciliation, vendor audits, compliance reviews, and required documentation.
- Maintain the annual benefits and compliance calendar, proactively managing required notices, filings, audits, renewals, and key deadlines.
- Support administration of the 401(k) and other retirement programs, including employee inquiries, vendor coordination, and compliance activities.
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, and applicable state leave programs.
- Develop and maintain employee-facing benefits and leave resources, FAQs, and educational materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve benefits and leave processes, vendor performance, employee experience, and operational efficiency.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2–4 years of experience administering employee benefits.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Experience working with HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
What would make you stand out
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), SHRM-CP, PHR, or related certification.
- Experience with UKG, Workday, ADP, or similar HRIS platforms.
- Experience supporting multi-state or global employee populations.
- Knowledge of leave administration and accommodation processes.
- Experience partnering with payroll and finance on benefits reconciliation.
- Passion for delivering an outstanding employee experience through thoughtful benefits administration.
