Executive Creative Director - AntiSocial
thinkingbox · Toronto, Canada
About The Role
Who We Are
Hi! We’re AntiSocial, a social-first digital marketing agency powered by people who love to create. Our work spans industries and disciplines, from conceptual campaigns and strategic media plans to creator partnerships, influencer strategies, and content production for leading brands around the world. As part of the Thinkingbox family, we bring creativity, collaboration, and innovation to everything we do. At AntiSocial, you’ll join a diverse and talented team that delivers bold campaigns and innovative solutions for some of the world’s top brands. Our culture is one of collaboration, creativity, and connection. Whether it’s brainstorming with colleagues, hanging out with our office dogs, or enjoying monthly events, we keep our work environment vibrant, inclusive, and fun.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an Executive Creative Director (ECD) to lead the creative vision of AntiSocial. As Executive Creative Director, you’ll be the senior creative leader for AntiSocial, responsible for setting the creative standard and ensuring our work is ambitious, culturally relevant, strategically sharp, and built for the way people actually consume content.
You’ll lead and inspire our creative team, partner closely with Strategy, Accounts, Social, Production, and senior leadership, and play a key role in both our existing client relationships and new business.
This role requires someone who understands big brand ideas but is equally passionate about social. You know that great creative today can be a major integrated campaign, a TikTok idea, a creator collaboration, a reactive cultural moment, or an always-on content platform – and you know how to build teams that can deliver across all of it.
What You'll Be Doing
Creative Leadership & Vision
- Set and champion the overall creative vision and standard for AntiSocial.
- Lead creative across major accounts, campaigns, pitches, and new business opportunities.
- Push teams toward work that is distinctive, culturally relevant, strategically grounded, and effective.
- Ensure ideas translate naturally across social platforms while having the potential to extend into broader integrated campaigns and experiences.
- Stay deeply connected to culture, emerging platforms, creators, technology, and changing audience behaviours.
- Build a creative culture where experimentation, curiosity, collaboration, and ambitious thinking are encouraged.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary creative team across copy, art direction, design, content, and social creative.
- Provide clear, constructive creative direction while giving teams the space and confidence to develop their own ideas.
- Help define the structure, capabilities, and talent AntiSocial needs as the company continues to grow.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the team through hiring, development, freelance talent, and external creative partners.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment where people can do the strongest work of their careers.
Clients & New Business
- Act as a senior creative partner to key clients, building trust and confidently presenting and defending creative thinking.
- Translate client and business challenges into compelling creative opportunities.
- Partner with Strategy and Account leadership to develop strong creative briefs and ensure strategic thinking carries through to execution.
- Play a leadership role in pitches and new business, helping shape the creative story and representing AntiSocial in the room.
- Build relationships that position AntiSocial as a trusted creative partner rather than simply an executional social agency.
Creative Excellence & Execution
- Oversee work from initial brief and concept through production and final delivery.
- Partner closely with Production to ensure ambitious ideas are executed at a high level while remaining realistic about budgets, timelines, and platforms.
- Balance brand-building creativity with the speed, volume, and responsiveness required by social.
- Raise the quality of both large campaign work and everyday content – understanding that every touchpoint contributes to the brand.
- Know when to push for craft and polish and when speed, relevance, and authenticity matter more.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant creative leadership experience within an advertising, creative, social, or integrated agency environment.
- Proven experience at the Creative Director, Group Creative Director, Executive Creative Director, or equivalent level.
- A portfolio of standout creative work across social, digital, content, and integrated campaigns.
- Deep understanding of social platforms and how creative behaviour differs across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels.
- Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to move between big campaign ideas and fast, culturally relevant social content.
- Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary creative teams.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to sell ambitious creative thinking to senior clients and stakeholders.
- Experience leading pitches and contributing to new business growth.
- A strong understanding of production and the ability to guide ideas from concept through execution.
- An active interest in culture, creators, entertainment, technology, design, and the constantly evolving social landscape.
