Job Description

  • Afinitas is HIRING for a CNC Machinist!
  • Afinitas is the leading manufacturer of robotic concrete pipe machinery and form equipment.
  • We work Monday-Thursday with 10-hour shifts. Our 2nd shift is 2:45 pm-12:45 am, with a $ 2-an-hour shift differential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setup, and run CNC machines.
  • Effectively receive priorities and ensure they are followed
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in CNC Machining Team
  • Order necessary tooling and equipment
  • Ensure quality of parts produced by CNC Machining Team meet specifications
  • Schedule work for team members on both shifts
  • Enforce all company attendance, safety, and personnel policies amongst team
  • Direct improvements in safety, quality, and cost in CNC Machining Team
  • Startup and shut down machine as recommended by maintenance
  • Operate both overhead and jib style cranes
  • Operate fork truck
  • Operate machine in such a manner to meet quality standards
  • Operate machine in both a safe and productive manner
  • Perform required preventative maintenance
  • Program CNC mills, and lathes using Mastercam
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year CNC machinist degree and/or previous work experience as a machinist
  • Set up and operate one of the following machines:
  • Okuma Lathe (OSP Controls
  • Okuma vertical mill (OSP Controls)
  • Read and interpret prints without supervision and/or direction
  • Proficient in Mastercam
  • Certified crane operator
  • Certified fork truck operator
  • Ability to multi-task, meaning operate machine and/or machines while completing tasks such as programming and/or review/prepare setups for upcoming jobs
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to handle shifting priorities and deadlines; able to properly prioritize.
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Available for overtime, if needed.
  • Have good housekeeping habits and strict adherence to safety.
  • Take personal ownership and pride of quality work in the department.
  • Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
