About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Legal Manager to join our regional legal team. You will serve as the primary point of contact for legal matters in Vietnam, providing critical support to our Singapore-based Senior Legal Manager. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between Vietnam’s evolving fintech/finance regulatory environment and our regional business strategy.
Working Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (100% on-site working)
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Advisory: Monitor, analyze, and advise on Vietnam-specific regulations governing payments, e-wallets, banking, and data protection (including Decree 13 on Personal Data Protection).
Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements to ensure alignment with local law and internal global standards.
Liaison: Act as the local legal representative when interacting with external counsel, local regulators, and internal stakeholders in Singapore.
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks in new product launches or service expansions and propose practical mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent in Vietnam; must be a qualified lawyer in Vietnam.
- Experience: 2–4 years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record in the banking, fintech, or payments industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of SBV regulations, payment intermediary licenses, and AML/KYC frameworks in Vietnam.
- Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both Vietnamese and English (drafting and negotiation capability is essential).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently in a remote-reporting structure, and cultural agility to work effectively with a cross-border team.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in an international law firm or the legal department of a regional fintech company.
Exposure to cross-border transactions or technology-focused legal work.
