Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Technology Business Analyst to play a crucial role in the collaboration between our Trading Desks (Equity, Option, Fixed Income, and Structured Products) and Technology Teams. The successful candidate will be instrumental from solution inception through to ongoing maintenance, covering a wide array of trading aspects and system integrations. Solutions range from but are not limited to topics such as retail, institutional, principal, agency, and syndicate trading as well as integration with various other systems.
This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, and supporting the implementation of new technology solutions and process improvements, as well as enhancing existing systems and workflows. Key responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements; creating workflows, wireframes, user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings, and data flows; supporting user testing; and documenting processes and procedures when applicable. The position will support both project-based initiatives and ongoing system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: Lead cross-functional efforts to define detailed business and technical requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively across the organization to gather, share, and articulate information.
- Design Collaboration: Utilize design-thinking to co-create and bring experiences to life.
- User Stories Creation: Convert requirements into detailed user stories to guide development and testing.
- Feature Prioritization: Manage and prioritize the application backlog for sprint planning.
- Data Analysis: Use data analysis to inform decisions.
- Agile Facilitation: Lead Scrum ceremonies, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Client Data Synthesis: Develop customized solutions based on client data analysis.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Drive practice management improvements by working with various departments.
- Risk and Change Management: Apply principles effectively to manage risks and changes.
- Professional Development: Engage in training and education programs to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
- Firm Initiative Participation: Actively contribute to firm-wide initiatives as directed.
Prior Experience
- Ideally three (3) to five (5) years of relevant technical business analysis or technical analysis experience is highly preferred.
- Must have knowledge of the Financial Services industry and a preference for front, middle, or back office experience.
- Experience with AI tools but doesn't need an expert.
Skill in
- Gathering and interpreting information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, etc.).
- Writing Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Functional Requirements Document (FRD).
- Writing intermediate to advanced SQL queries is a plus.
- TFS experience is a plus.
- Postman is a plus.
- MS Office products.
Ability to
- Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to run SQL queries in Oracle databases when needed to research / troubleshoot issue.
- Ability to translate technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.
- Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
- Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

- Occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.
- Work in a team environment or project room to facilitate collaboration.
