About The Role

The application window is expected to close on: 10/29/2026 This is a Hybrid role in San Jose, CA Requiring 2-3 days in office per week.

Meet the Team

The CX Platform is the high-velocity engineering engine powering Cisco’s entire customer experience ecosystem. We build full-stack applications, robust shared services, and cutting-edge AI/ML integrations that empower our customer-facing teams to ship innovation faster and with absolute confidence. As we look toward our FY27 vision, this team is at the epicenter of Cisco’s transformation, ensuring our architecture is not just reactive, but anticipatory. You’ll be joining a group of builders who own the product lifecycle from end to end—from front-end user experiences to complex back-end services. If you thrive in an environment where technical decisions are judged by their measurable impact on customer outcomes, you’ll find your home here.

Your Impact

In this role, you will build and enhance scalable full-stack software that solves important customer and business challenges across the CX Platform, taking ownership of significant features end to end — from design through delivery. You’ll design reliable, high-performing systems and integrate AI/ML-driven capabilities that materially improve the real-world product experience.

You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver secure, high-quality solutions in an agile environment, and you’ll be a direct contributor to architecture decisions, testing strategy, and CI/CD practices for the areas you own — not just executing against someone else’s design.

You will also be a technical resource to others, helping less experienced engineers work through hard problems as you encounter them together.

Success in this role means shipping maintainable solutions that improve customer outcomes and help advance Cisco’s AI-enabled platform strategy, with the independence to make sound technical calls along the way.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree (e.g., Mathematics, Physics)
  • 7 years of related professional engineering experience (with a Bachelor’s); 4 years (with a Master’s); 1 year (with a PhD).
  • Experience programming with Go, Java, or C/C++
  • Experience building end-to-end full stack software in a production environment
  • Experience integrating AI/ML-driven capabilities into product features
  • Experience independently owning features or components, including design, implementation, testing, and delivery
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and agile development
  • Experienced working directly with product managers and designers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to architectural decisions for a platform or service consumed by multiple teams
  • Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and tooling for integrating models into applications
  • Experience with observability, performance tuning, and reliability practices for high-traffic systems
  • Experience mentoring junior or mid-level engineers
