  • Base Salary, level B $ 132,533 p.a. - $ 157,381 p.a. + 17% superannuation

These are exciting opportunities to play a key role in shaping a new future focused postgraduate program at the University of Sydney Business School. Working within the School of Business Analytics and Marketing, you will contribute specialist expertise to the design and enhancement of curriculum, digital learning experiences, and teaching resources for this innovative postgraduate program. Collaborating with academic colleagues, industry practitioners and key stakeholders, you will help shape a contemporary and industry relevant student learning experience at the intersection of business analytics and emerging technologies, while supporting the design and development of project-based curriculum initiatives.

Reporting to Associate Professor Steven Lu , your key responsibilities will be

  • develop and enhance curriculum for the new digital postgraduate program
  • design engaging learning experiences and teaching resources
  • contribute specialist expertise to course and unit development activities
  • collaborate with academic colleagues to ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes
  • support project-based curriculum development and implementation initiatives.

About you

We are seeking an exceptional Lecturer (Education Focused) in Business Analytics who has

  • a PhD (or near completion) in the area of statistics, computer science, operations research or a closely related discipline, with expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or computational methods
  • demonstrated expertise in applying artificial intelligence and machine-learning methods to create novel methodology, to solve difficult and previously unsolvable business problems, or other similarly consequential areas
  • strong technical capability in relevant programming languages and analytical tools, such as Python, R, machine-learning frameworks, large language models, or related computational technologies
  • demonstrated ability to develop and articulate a clear, compelling, and forward-looking vision for the future of AI and AI education over the next 3–5 years, and to communicate this vision effectively to key stakeholders. The proposed vision should be grounded, at least in part, in the candidate’s previous work, achievements.
  • demonstrate knowledge of current and emerging developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their application within financial services and business.
  • experience in curriculum design, development, and teaching within a tertiary education environment, preferably in statistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or a related field
  • a demonstrated commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, including the development of student-centred educational experiences that integrate financial theory, technical skills, and real-world applications
  • experience collaborating effectively with academic colleagues, industry partners, professional staff, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality educational outcomes
