Job Description: Competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, groups and families with health-care needs ranging from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing status. Demonstrates a caring approach which reflects and incorporates expertise.

Experience

Exp in the last 5 yrs with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders
Exp in the last 5 years in psychiatric assessment & intervention required
2 yrs exp in Acute Psych or Comm. Mental Health nursing or a combo of the two.

Education

Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN)

Other Education and Training

Basic CPR, ASSIST preferred
Nursing diploma is acceptable
Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable
Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge in mental health assessment systems
Knowledge in client psychosocial living needs and interventions
Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures
Knowledge in mental health/mental illness impact on client, family and community
