JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Production Tech position performs the processing of cooked meat products under the supervisor and direction of the Processing Supervisor.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Performs the careful handling of both cold and hot cooked meat products
  2. Inspects the meat for quality, removing anything that does not meet standards
  3. Verifies product weight by placing it on a scale
  4. Places product in packaging located on the Tiromat machine
  5. Cleans edges of packaging to ensure a proper seal
  6. Shovels product from a combo/container onto a table
  7. Must be able to stand between 2 – 3 hours at a time
  8. Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of a company approved frock, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to cold temperatures as low as 38 degrees Fahrenheit. The floors in the environment are often wet and can be slippery.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Frequent use/motion of hands, wrists and arms are required
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. 40+ hours per week.
  • Hours of work: Monday through Friday, start time: 3-3:30PM, finish time varies depending on workload.
  • 10 – 12 hour work days are common. Weekends and overtime hours as required. Schedule is subject to change with or without advance notice.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
