About The Role

Wood is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) professional to join our Contract Maintenance Planning team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting as well as planning work packages for execution in the field. You will be working on small cap facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of the Bishop, TX capital projects group.

This opportunity is an onsite, full-time role with opportunities for overtime.

The role involves meeting or exceeding the company’s safety standards, complying with all company procedures and engineering practices, and working closely with project team members to achieve project success.

**Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship is required. There is no paid relocation offered for this position.

  • Develop detailed maintenance work packages for Instrumentation and Electrical work activities.
  • Review maintenance notifications and work orders for proper scope definition.
  • Plan labor, materials, tools, permits, and equipment required for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Reliability, Maintenance.
  • Plan turnaround and shutdown planning activities.
  • Review technical drawings, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
  • Procure materials and coordinate parts availability through SAP.
  • Monitor backlog health and prioritize work based on plant needs.
  • Assist with schedule readiness and work package quality reviews.
  • Utilize data and reporting tools to track maintenance performance and planning effectiveness.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices, reliability, and productivity.

Expected

Technical Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial Instrumentation and/or Electrical maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Instrument calibration and troubleshooting
  • Process control systems
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Motors and motor controls
  • VFDs
  • PLCs and DCS systems
  • Loop checks and commissioning
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance practices

Systems Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of SAP Maintenance Module (PM) is helpful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel .
  • Basic understanding of Power BI reporting and dashboards.
  • Ability to navigate and interpret maintenance data and performance metrics.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with craftsmen, supervisors, engineers, and operations personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance planning or scheduling experience.
  • Experience using SAP PM for work management and maintenance planning.
  • Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Experience supporting plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance events.
