About The Role
Designs, develops, tests, and supports software for cloud-based and connected-device solutions. Works as part of an engineering team to deliver reliable backend services, APIs, and cloud integrations under the guidance of more senior engineers.
The role is well suited for an engineer who has established software development fundamentals and is looking to grow their experience in cloud-native development, distributed systems, and connected products. The engineer will contribute to feature development, production support, automated testing, and continuous improvement of software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
JOB DUTIES
- Develop and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based software components supporting connected products and customer-facing applications.
- Implement software features using C#/.NET and established engineering patterns, coding standards, automated testing, and code review practices.
- Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, queues, storage, and other cloud platform components.
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews to maintain software quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot software and production issues by analyzing application logs, metrics, code behavior, and system dependencies.
- Participate in L3 support activities and work with senior engineers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with product, QA, operations, firmware, mobile, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver assigned functionality.
- Participate in technical design discussions and contribute implementation ideas and recommendations within established system architecture.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, security, and developer productivity.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, provide clear status updates, and document technical approaches and troubleshooting findings.
YOU MUST HAVE
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting production software.
- Hands-on programming experience with C#/.NET, Java, or a similar object-oriented language .
- Experience developing or consuming REST APIs and working with backend services.
- Working knowledge of databases and data access patterns.
- Experience with source control, preferably Git, code reviews, and modern software development practices.
- Experience writing automated tests and debugging software issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a software engineering team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
WE VALUE
- Experience developing applications using C#/.NET Core .
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform.
- Experience with Azure technologies such as App Services, Functions, Storage, Service Bus, Event Hubs, IoT Hub, or Cosmos DB .
- Familiarity with microservices, asynchronous messaging, or event-driven architectures .
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cosmos DB.
- Familiarity with containers and technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience using application logs, metrics, dashboards, or observability tools to troubleshoot issues.
- Experience with connected devices, IoT applications, or other distributed systems is a plus.
