Marketing, Communications & Events Manager (part-time, 28 hours/week)
The Whitmoe Global Business Center in the Marriott School of Business is seeking an experienced, creative, and collaborative professional to lead the Center’s marketing, communications, branding, and signature events. This position plays an important role in increasing awareness of the Global Business Center, strengthening engagement with key stakeholders, and promoting programs and opportunities that advance the Whitmore Global Business Center’s mission and strategic priorities.
What you’ll do in this position
- Develop and execute annual marketing and communication plans that promote Center programs, initiatives, events, and strategic priorities.
- Manage and strengthen the Center’s brand across print, digital, social media, email, and web platforms while ensuring alignment with university branding standards.
- Manage the creation, production, and distribution of key communications, including newsletters, annual reports, direct mail, email campaigns, and event promotions.
- Plan, promote, and execute signature events for students, faculty, alumni, donors, and other stakeholders, including managing logistics, budgets, vendors, and participant communications.
- Manage digital marketing efforts, including social media, email marketing, and website content, and use engagement metrics to evaluate and improve effectiveness.
- Support efforts to build and maintain relationships with students, faculty, alumni, donors, advisory board members, university partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the Center’s representation at external events, networking opportunities, and sponsorships to increase visibility and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
- Manage website content and updates to ensure information is timely, engaging, accurate, accessible, and aligned with university standards.
- Coordinate advisory board materials and support the maintenance of alumni, donor, mentor, and stakeholder information in CRM and other internal platforms.
- Supervise and provide creative direction to 2-3 student employees supporting design and event activities.
What qualifies you for this role
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in marketing or event management.
- Experience managing branding and high-visibility events.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Event planning, project coordination, and budget management.
- Ability to provide creative direction and supervise student employees.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in marketing or event management.
- Experience in higher education.
- Experience producing donor or advisory board communications.
- Knowledge of digital marketing analytics and campaign performance measurement.
- Experience with social media management platforms.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design software.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.)
- Photography or videography experience

Pay Grade: 52
Typical Starting Pay: $31.25 to $40.50 an hour
