Software Test Developer, SDET - Robotics
CN05 NVIDIA Shanghai WFOE · Shanghai, China
About The Role
NVIDIA is the engine of modern AI, and robotics is where AI meets the physical world. The Isaac robotics platform — spanning Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Isaac ROS, the foundation models behind Isaac GR00T, and the accelerated libraries that run on Jetson and in the data center — is how the world’s developers and industrial leaders build intelligent robots.
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Senior SWQA Test Developer to join our Isaac QA team in China. This role sits at the intersection of Isaac platform quality and the China robotics ecosystem. You will own China-specific validation across Isaac products — covering robot hardware platforms and partner integrations that are unique to the China market. You will also own the full lifecycle of robot hardware bring-up testing, factory software validation, and the Robot Platform Certification program for NVIDIA's Chinese partner companies. Experience using AI tools to automate end-to-end QA workflows is essential. Familiarity with developing, automating, or demonstrating sophisticated AI agents and workflows is also highly desirable. This position requires frequent collaboration with Engineering and QA teams globally (India, US) as well as local Chinese robot OEM and partner teams. Join us at the forefront of the robotics and AI revolution and help shape the future of intelligent systems. Learn more at: https://www.nvidia.com/en-in/industries/robotics/
What you'll be doing
- Apply AI-assisted tooling (LLM-based test generation, copilots, agent frameworks) to accelerate test authoring, failure triage, and coverage analysis
- Develop test strategy, detailed test plans, and structured test cases based on product requirements and partner use cases
- Validate full-stack behavior across local partner integrations and China-specific deployment environments
- Lead bring-up testing for new robot hardware platforms entering production; define and execute factory software test plans covering functional verification, calibration, diagnostics, and manufacturing acceptance criteria
- Execute end-to-end testing of GR00T-based robot action policies on China-available robot hardware; validate policy rollout, sim-to-real transfer fidelity, teleoperation data quality
- Support data collection and maintain robot learning infrastructure; build dashboards and automation to track test coverage, fleet health, and data pipeline quality across robot deployments
- Identify, record, document, and regress internal and external bugs; provide root cause analysis and statistical quality reports to global and local stakeholders
- Collaborate with Engineering and QA teams globally (India, US) as well as local Chinese robot OEM and partner teams
- Manage fleet of robots in Lab including hardware and software updates
What we need to see
- Masters or Equivalent degree in CS/CE/IT/ECE/EEE
- 3 - 4 plus years of hands-on software QA or test engineering
- experience across an embedded or robotics software stack
- Excellent programming skills with Python and/or C/C++ and able to write logical scripts/code from scratch
- Solid Linux fundamentals: shell scripting, system debugging, process and network tools
- Good knowledge in areas of Robotics perception, navigation, manipulation and simulation
- Knowledge of robotics simulator engine and ability to develop automated test scenarios using the same
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, LLM-based agents) for test generation or QA workflow automation
- Ability to engage effectively with Chinese robot OEM and partner engineering teams; strong written and verbal communication in both Chinese and English
- Hands on experience with functional safety standards (ISO 26262), particularly in autonomous systems.
- Passion for debugging complex failures and driving issues to root cause
Ways to stand out from the crowd
- Experience with Chinese robot platforms (humanoids, AMRs, manipulation arms) and familiarity with China-market robot OEM ecosystems
- AI/ML degree, certification, or demonstrable project work in reinforcement learning, sim-to-real transfer, or robot learning
- Experience optimizing test workflows using AI tools
- Experience writing or evaluating robot foundation model inference pipelines (e.g., GR00T-based policies)
- Contributions to open-source robotics projects or ROS community packages
