Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Driver Heavy Vehicles 3. This position is located in Ogden, UT.

What You’ll Get To Do

The Driver Heavy Vehicle 3 will support Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) program by operating heavy-duty trucks consisting of but not limited to combination vehicles, straight vehicles, and specialty equipment to transport materials, merchandise, equipment and personnel. Will be transporting oversized overweight equipment, hazardous material, and explosives at times. Coordinate with customers for the loading or unloading of trucks and trailers with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other specialized lift equipment.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a Class A commercial driver license
  • Ability to work hours to meet business objectives, which may include working overtime (40+ hours in a work week)
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT Physical (medical certification)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT Drug and Alcohol test
  • Must complete a pre-employment driver specific application
  • Must have a clean Clearing House Report
  • Experience with oversize overweight loads
  • Experience with Forklifts and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Equipment
  • Must be willing to drive as part of a sleeper team at times
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Be able to crawl, kneel, and climb on and into equipment as needed
  • Be willing to obtain a passenger endorsement and drive a transit shuttle when needed
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense (DOD) Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Passenger Endorsement
  • No Transmission Restrictions (Automatic Only)
  • Experience with transporting hazardous material and placarding
  • DOT Hazmat Certification (Code of Federal Regulations 49)
  • Flatbed experience
  • Active DOD clearance with an investigation or re-investigation within the last 5 years
  • Experience working under the safety and security requirements of a secure government facility

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
