About the Role

The Group Revenue Analyst is a hands-on member of the Group Revenue Team, supporting the Group Revenue Accountants in delivering accurate, timely, and well-controlled revenue accounting and reporting across Cyncly. The role sits at the intersection of accounting and commercial finance, combining core accounting activities — journal preparation, account reconciliations, revenue recognition support, and balance sheet analysis — with the preparation, manipulation, and interpretation of financial and operational data.

The successful candidate will work across entities, products, and business units, helping ensure that revenue information is complete, reliable, and suitable for both financial reporting and business analysis. This is a position designed for someone with a foundational accounting background, strong analytical capabilities, and a genuine interest in developing expertise in revenue accounting, systems, controls, and commercial performance.

You will collaborate closely with teams across Commercial Finance, Revenue Operations, BU Accounting, General Ledger, Sales, Professional Services, and IT — contributing to a group-wide effort to centralize, standardize, and continuously improve how revenue is recognised and reported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recurring revenue-recognition activities in accordance with IFRS 15 and established Group accounting policies.
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries and supporting schedules for review by the Group Revenue Accountants.
  • Perform reconciliations of revenue accounts and related balance sheet accounts, including accrued revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities.
  • Assist with the review of billing, sales orders, credit notes, revenue arrangements, and source-system data to identify incomplete, inaccurate, or unusual items.
  • Investigate reconciliation differences and data exceptions, documenting root causes and proposing corrective actions.
  • Extract, combine, clean, and validate data from finance and commercial systems for accounting and reporting purposes.
  • Prepare recurring revenue reports, reconciliations, bridges, and analytical schedules for review.
  • Analyse revenue movements by entity, product, business unit, customer, and revenue type.
  • Support the reconciliation of recognised revenue to operational and commercial data, including bookings, contracted recurring revenue, billing, and professional-services information.
  • Support the review of standard customer contracts and sales arrangements to identify relevant revenue-recognition considerations.
  • Execute assigned controls over revenue completeness, accuracy, cut-off, classification, and period allocation.
  • Work with NetSuite, Salesforce, spreadsheets, and other finance systems to support revenue accounting and analysis.
  • Identify recurring manual activities and data-quality issues that may be suitable for standardisation or automation.
  • Maintain clear, complete, and audit-ready supporting documentation for all assigned activities.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, retrieving evidence, and resolving follow-up questions.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree, technical qualification, or relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles: journal entries, revenue accrual and deferrals, account reconciliations, and the income statement and balance sheet.
  • Exposure to revenue recognition or IFRS 15.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills — able to organise, reconcile, and analyse large or complex data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and investigate their causes.
  • Ability to work accurately with detailed transactional information while keeping sight of the overall business process.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to organise competing tasks and meet recurring month-end deadlines.
  • Careful, hands-on, and proactive working style.
  • Willingness to learn revenue accounting, systems, business processes, and data-analysis techniques.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis, audit, revenue operations, or commercial finance.
  • Experience preparing journals, account reconciliations, financial schedules, or management reports.
  • Experience using an ERP or CRM system, preferably NetSuite.
  • Familiarity with data-analysis or visualisation tools such as Power Query, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience in a software, subscription, SaaS, or professional-services environment.
  • Progress toward an accounting qualification or an interest in developing a professional accounting career.
