The team..

The Group Controllership and Reporting team operates at the core of ITV’s corporate finance infrastructure. We are responsible for delivering external financial reporting, managing complex technical accounting treatments, and ensuring absolute financial integrity for a listed media business. Operating in a dynamic, high-profile environment, our team partners closely with global business units, external auditors, and senior leadership to guide the business through major corporate transactions, evolving accounting standards, and continuous system developments.

The role..

We’re looking for an Interim Global Head of Reporting to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. Reporting directly into the Interim Group Financial Controller, you will lead the preparation of external financial reporting—principally the annual report and accounts and interim financial statements—as well as managing the consolidation and reporting of monthly group financials. You will oversee the Head of Consolidation (and team) and the Head of Technical Accounting, ensuring robust segregation of duties, key control execution, and seamless communication with external auditors and the Audit Committee.

Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Overseeing the Head of Consolidation and team to ensure the accurate monthly consolidation and reporting of the Group’s financial results.
  • Owning the consolidation and group reporting process, preparing the consolidation and cash flow statements, and maintaining strict segregation of duties between preparers and reviewers.
  • Reviewing and approving consolidation workings, including FX proofs, reserves reconciliations, post-close journals, and cash flow statements.
  • Overseeing the Head of Technical Accounting) to ensure accurate technical accounting treatments and external reporting adoption.
  • Managing the communication and rollout of new accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 18, IFRS 19) and assisting with Sustainability standard implementations and IFRS 5 Discontinued Operations disclosures relating to corporate transactions.
  • Serving as Chart of Accounts Board Chair with final approval rights, identifying master data updates, and maintaining/developing the consolidation system.
  • Drafting half-year and annual report accounts together with the team and acting as the key point of contact with the Group’s external auditor.
  • Drafting and reviewing Audit Committee papers and technical accounting papers for senior leadership.
  • Managing budgeting and forecasting for key areas including IFRS 2 charges, intangibles amortisation, acquisition liabilities, and NCI.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing the consolidation and reporting team, fostering an "always learning" culture and supporting ITV-wide D&I and social purpose initiatives.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified accountant with significant years of experience within a Group Financial Controllership and Reporting team.
  • Essential UK listed company experience, with significant expertise in drafting and reviewing UK Listed Group accounts, annual reports, and interim statements.
  • Deep accounting knowledge across all areas of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Extensive experience with month-end reporting processes and strong working knowledge of group finance systems.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing Audit Committee and technical accounting papers, paired with strong relationship management skills to influence decision-making among senior stakeholders.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Media industry knowledge and experience (gained either through audit or industry) is desirable.
  • Proven track record of team management, supporting colleagues through critical reporting periods, and prioritising high volumes of information requests.
  • Ability to build and nurture trusted relationships across the broader finance community.
  • A leader who takes time to prioritise their own mental and physical wellbeing during times of change to remain fresh and focused.

Potential Challenges

  • During key reporting periods (Half-Year and Year-End), 4 to 5 days per week in the office is required. Flexible at other times.
  • Requirement for longer working hours during critical month-end, half-year, and year-end reporting cycles.
  • Travel between the London and Manchester office hubs will be expected.

Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
