To help our customers develop innovative solutions, we are looking for a motivated Field Application Engineer (FAE) to work with our UK sales team and customers.
As an Altera FAE, you will use your strong technical and business acumen to build strong relationships with key strategic customers, understand their system requirements, win new designs, and drive business growth in accordance with company goals, processes, and values.
You will be the technical consultant to our key customers as they go from architectural evaluation, through completion of their design. This will require guidance on our FPGA product lines and associated development tools, IP, boards, and software stacks, enabling our customers to bring competitive products to market quickly and maximize business potential.
In this role, you will partner with Sales & other FAEs to develop the customer base and drive technical business development.
You will be expected to
- Contribute and execute to territory, account and opportunity plans as part of the Sales Team
- Engage with our customer's high level system architects and key decision makers to understand their systems applications, influence their design choices, and provide creative solutions to their problems, ensuring that they are architected around Altera products.
- Present capabilities of whole product portfolio, drive feasibility studies and proofs of concept in customer meetings and seminars.
- Build strong, valued relationships with key influencers at all levels within our customers and internally within Altera.
- Provide technical support throughout the customer design cycle, from architecture through production.
- Create and deliver technical proposals based on product portfolio knowledge, customer requirements, and inputs from internal teams.
- Demonstrate effective leadership in coordinating specialist technical resources.
- Demonstrate teamwork and ability to work effectively in informal and formal teams with individuals from diverse communities and cultures, at all levels within the company.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of Altera’s solutions relevant to your customers’ requirements. Understand your customers’ end markets and how Intel products can help them win.
- Ensure that Altera's roadmap is aligned with our customers’ long-term requirements
- Have strong presentation and communication skills that can be applied at all levels
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications & requirements
- BS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years industry experience
- Experience with FPGA design & proficient in the use of FPGA development tools
- Strong presentation & interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Willing to travel both domestically and internationally
