About The Role

Position Overview
We are seeking a Java Developer to join a hybrid environment Scrum team that focuses on our Institutional Retirement technology applications and processes to implement Pension Risk Transfer, and other Longevity and Institutional Retirement products. Technologies used by the team include Java, Spring, Spring Batch, SQL Server, and AWS.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
- Work to solve problems with a test and learn mindset.
- Provide ongoing support for business applications and respond to production needs. Provide Level 3 support off-hours through a team rotation.
- Perform analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and implementation activities of low to medium complexity on internal software integrations with vendor and enterprise systems.
- Support operational and modernization efforts with internal teams and in a global operating model.
- Develop and maintain Annuity and Institutional Retirement business knowledge.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop knowledge of AI Software Development and Engineering as part of Securian’s Software Development Lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience with Java or other programming languages.
- Strong collaborator and communicator.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science or related field).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.
- Java batch & Spring batch experience.
- Experience with SQL Server, AWS, ALIP Contract Administration System.
- Experience with Software Engineering, Software Development Lifecycle, and AI Software Development concepts

The estimated base pay range for this job is
$55,700.00 - $103,400.00
