About The Role

Reports To: Head of Physical Distribution and Third-Party Channels

Job Purpose

The Branch Manager will be responsible for leading the branch to achieve business growth, profitability, customer service excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The role holder will drive sales performance, manage branch operations and risk, strengthen customer relationships, and provide effective leadership to branch staff in line with the Bank's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Drive branch profitability through the growth of deposits, loans, and other banking products and services.
  • Lead branch sales activities and ensure achievement of business and financial targets.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to expand the branch customer base and market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Promote the Bank's products and services within the community and business networks.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure excellent service delivery and superior customer experience.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Implement customer experience initiatives and service quality standards.
  • Support the migration and adoption of digital banking channels.

Leadership & People Management

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to branch staff.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Support employee development through training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Ensure effective communication and feedback within the branch.

Operations, Risk & Compliance

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch and ensure adherence to operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Manage operational and credit risk within approved policies and frameworks.
  • Protect the Bank's financial and physical assets, including responsibilities as Second Vault Custodian.
  • Work closely with Operations staff to ensure the smooth processing of transactions and safe branch operations.
  • Ensure minimal audit exceptions and timely resolution of identified issues.

Credit & Portfolio Management

  • Market and manage credit facilities for existing and prospective customers.
  • Evaluate and analyze credit requests and prepare credit applications in accordance with the Bank's credit policies.
  • Monitor and manage branch risk assets to maintain portfolio quality.

Reporting & Strategic Execution

  • Execute the Bank's strategic plans and initiatives at branch level.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities within the local market.
  • Prepare and submit branch performance reports to management.
  • Ensure branch premises and facilities reflect the Bank's brand and professional image.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in banking, finance, sales, business development, or branch operations.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the financial services sector is required.
  • Experience in customer relationship management, credit assessment, and business development will be an added advantage.
