About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Head of Accounting & Finance to lead financial operations for Cartrack, a highly regulated, compliance-driven services organisation. This isn't a back-office role—it's a strategic position where you'll combine rigorous audit discipline with commercial acumen to drive operational excellence and profitability.

You'll own

Accounting Operations & Controls Full-spectrum P2P, R2R, and general accounting across a high-volume, process-driven environment. We're talking AP, AR, billing, complex costing structures, and month-end/year-end closes that are clean, timely, and well-supported. You'll maintain the integrity of our GL while ensuring we meet rigorous internal controls and compliance standards.

Financial Analysis & Commercial Insight Deep-dive P&L and cash flow analysis, margin monitoring across service lines, and variance analysis that actually drives decisions. You'll translate financial data into clear recommendations that help leadership optimize pricing, utilisation, and costs.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning Partner with operational and business leaders on annual budgets and rolling forecasts. You'll be the analytical backbone of our planning cycle, identifying cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.

Regulatory Compliance & Audit Partnership Operate confidently within our heavily regulated environment. You'll coordinate external audits, manage tax compliance, and ensure we're always audit-ready—while maintaining the controls and discipline that protect our business.

Process Improvement & Systems Identify inefficiencies and drive enhancements in billing, costing, revenue recognition, and inventory tracking. You'll establish clear accounting policies, streamline workflows, and improve accuracy through better systems and processes.

Team Leadership Build and develop a small to mid-sized accounting team, maintaining high standards of technical accuracy and accountability.

What We're Looking For

• ✓ Big 4 Audit Background – You've spent time in audit and understand control environments, regulatory requirements, and the discipline it takes to get things right.
• ✓ Hands-On Accounting Experience – You've owned end-to-end accounting operations and know what it takes to run tight, efficient finance functions.
• ✓ Chief Accountant Certificate – A must-have qualification demonstrating your commitment to the profession.
• ✓ Analytical & Commercial Mindset – Strong numerical skills combined with the ability to see the commercial angle. You can turn data into decisions.
• ✓ Regulated Environment Experience – You've worked in compliance-heavy, process-driven industries and thrive in that structure.
• ✓ Complex Billing & Costing Exposure – Experience with intricate billing models and detailed costing is a huge plus.
• ✓ Strong Communication – Excellent English (written and verbal). You explain financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance teams.
• ✓ Tax & Compliance Knowledge – Highly preferred. A solid grasp of tax and regulatory requirements is a real advantage.
