Job description

Wagenborg Crew Management is seeking for a Chief Engineer to join our Shipping Fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering operations of our General Cargo vessels. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery and equipment.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering team onboard General Cargo vessels
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
Oversee maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
Monitor and optimize fuel consumption and engine performance
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations

Job requirements

Valid applicable Certificate of Competence (STCW III/2 or III/3)

Valid STCW Training Certificates

Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Excellent English communication skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Strong leadership skills
Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards
Experience with general cargo trade
Experience with mixed Nationality crew
Preferred experience as a Single Engineer
