Scope of Position
- The position is responsible for providing quality toxicology testing to OSUMC patients and clients as well as to the community. It requires
- effective interactions with staff and clients. The laboratory also provides training for residents and medical technology students, and various
- research functions. The department is staffed Sunday through Saturday, 7am-1130pm.
Position Summary
- The Student Med Tech will be working primarily in the Toxicology lab. Student will be required to fill supplies, filing, enter information into the
- Lab Information System, reagent prep, cleaning glassware, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. The student will work under the
- direction of the Lab manager, lead technologists, medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians.
Minimum Qualifications
- For Hire: Enrolled in a four year or two-year medical technology program with a preference of a junior status.
- Ongoing: Meets mandatory hospital education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal,
- and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions
