Summary
Assumes 24-hour accountability for the management of patient transport services and oversees patient and customer satisfaction, quality standards, performance improvement, and personal performance and productivity. Assists in the management of material, financial and human resources, and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and established policies and procedures.
Job Duties
- Assists with the administrative and operational tasks of the team.
- Participates in the performance improvement process which includes organizational departmental and patient satisfaction goals.
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies/procedures/protocols/standards to facilitate improved care practices and to promote a positive patient experience.
- Updates schedules and timecards daily and submits employees time cards bi-weekly.
- Assists in monitoring vacancy and turnover rates and implements unit programs to achieve minimal vacancies and reduce turnover.
- Assists with the assessment, planning, and implementation of transport services.
- Troubleshoots issues and works to resolve and/or develop solutions.
- Completes performance appraisal of team members.
- Participates in coaching, counseling, and mentoring of unit personnel.
- Provides clinical, technical, or informational services to staff, other disciplines, patients and/or families.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in business or healthcare.
- 3 years experience in leadership roles overseeing work processes.
- Knowledge of asset tracking and condition monitoring software and EPIC transport tracking software.
- Knowledge of the problem solving process in the identification and resolution of patient transport or other problems.
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or healthcare.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
