This position is based in Amsterdam. The Assistant General Counsel EMEA is a member of the Link Snacks Global Legal team, reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel, with a functional reporting line to the Managing Director EMEA.
Your main responsibilities will include
- Manage the Legal function of Link Snacks EMEA, ensuring the organization operates in compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, quality, and governance requirements across the region.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the EMEA Leadership Team, supporting sustainable growth through proactive legal advice, risk management, commercial contracting, employment law expertise, and regulatory oversight.
- Contribute to the overall success of the organization by providing pragmatic, business-oriented legal counsel while safeguarding the company's interests, reputation, and assets. Be a strategic thinker and trusted advisor, capable of balancing commercial objectives with legal and regulatory obligations in a dynamic international food manufacturing environment.
- Serve as a key member of the EMEA Leadership Team and oversee all legal, compliance, governance, and regulatory matters across the EMEA region.
- Commercial Contracting & Corporate Legal Affairs: Provide solution-oriented legal advice that enables commercial objectives while appropriately managing legal and regulatory risk. Manage disputes, claims, litigation, and external legal counsel across EMEA.
- Employment Law & Labor Relations: Serve as the primary legal advisor on European employment law matters across all EMEA countries, partnering with external specialists where appropriate
- Compliance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Ethics & Governance: Develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives across EMEA
- Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Food Law: Provide legal oversight and guidance on food law regulations applicable within the EMEA region.
- Data Privacy & Intellectual Property: Oversee compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection laws across EMEA.
- 7+ years of legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years in an in-house legal position within an international organization.
- Proven experience supporting complex commercial operations across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Strong expertise in commercial contracting and negotiations.
- Extensive knowledge of European employment and labor law.
- Experience in compliance, ethics, corporate governance, and risk management.
- Strong understanding of EU food law, food safety regulations, regulatory affairs, quality systems, labeling requirements, and consumer protection legislation.
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, meat processing, consumer goods, or a similarly regulated industry preferred.
- Experience managing external legal counsel and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to balance legal risk management with commercial growth objectives.
