About The Role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Consultant / Consultant Pathologist to join our pathology department. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnostic pathology services, support multidisciplinary clinical teams, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality laboratory medicine and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine and interpret tissue biopsies, cytology specimens, and laboratory investigations to provide accurate diagnoses.
- Perform gross and microscopic examination of surgical pathology specimens.
- Report histopathology, cytopathology, and other pathology findings in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clinicians, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and laboratory professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including oncology and specialty case discussions.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality assurance, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior pathologists, laboratory scientists, and technical staff.
- Maintain accurate pathology records and laboratory documentation.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education.
- Stay current with advances in pathology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory technologies.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or recognized postgraduate qualification in Pathology (Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or equivalent).
- Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Extensive experience as a Consultant or Senior Pathologist in a hospital or accredited diagnostic laboratory.
- Strong expertise in histopathology, cytopathology, and laboratory diagnostics.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
