We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team. The primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager are to maintain and repair plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations while maximizing Process Effectiveness (PE%). This newly created position is responsible for coordinating project and work order schedules, as well as directing resources. The Maintenance Manager is required to supervise maintenance and T&D departments in the facility, leading preventive and reactive tasks.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment; work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs; always wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Provide safety leadership; drive a safety culture aligned with the 8-Step Safety Process and risk assessment.
  • Ensure the application of appropriate OSHA and state safety administration regulations.
  • Maintenance and T&D
  • Plan, direct and lead day-to-day activities of both maintenance and T&D department personnel.
  • Generate work orders, track progress and follow-up as needed.
  • Work with production supervisors, production personnel and maintenance personnel to ensure the facility and equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Work with production supervisors, production personnel and maintenance personnel to drive continuous improvement and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Establish challenging maintenance KPIs associated with lean manufacturing; support plant-wide lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Accountable for maintenance budget planning and tracking; identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Develop and execute effective TPM program; execute an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
  • Assure that production equipment is capable of producing within the specifications and tolerances required by production.
  • Consult with engineering regarding desirable modifications to existing equipment.
  • Assist in and coordinate resources for the installation of major equipment.
  • Organizational Vitality
  • Develop, coach and manage a department qualified to maintain all equipment and processes in a safe and efficient working condition.
  • Communicate regularly with all department personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure effective two-way communication concerning maintenance issues and best practices.
  • Strengthen departmental teamwork and facilitate training and/or learning opportunities; foster team cohesiveness.
  • Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance and T&D department.
  • Provide backup to other managers, as needed, and support other miscellaneous tasks supporting plant operations.

Key Ownership

  • Establish and define maintenance schedules with Planning to coordinate preventive, predictive and improvement programs.
  • Quickly evaluate mechanical and electrical malfunctions and make recommendations for best course of action. Lead problem solving techniques and support team in the conversion of conceptual ideas into practical resolutions.
  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to develop new processes and methods as required.
  • Drive consistency and standards in maintenance performance metrics.
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all department managers in order to foster an environment where collaboration is applied to solve problems.
  • May interact with, consult, and manage engineers and vendors.
  • Utilize and implement a work order system (CMMS) for the planning and scheduling of daily work tasks, weekly preventative maintenance and to track all work that is performed back to the equipment asset history.
  • Provide support and technical leadership for the evolution from reactive to proactive maintenance (reactive to preventive to predictive to proactive). Manage tracking and reporting of reliability key performance indicators (KPI). Driven by KPI, develop new process and methods to improve maintenance programs.
  • Participate as a member of the Leadership Team.
  • Participate in continuing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.

L2L

  • Hold department accountable for data integrity, system usage, and compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor performance trends, identify anomalies, and highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Utilize data insights to identify opportunities for process and parts optimization.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in monthly L2L meetings, contributing insights and driving action items.
  • Partner with the Parts Coordinator to drive parts obsolescence initiatives and optimize stores and inventory management, ensuring accuracy, availability, and alignment with maintenance and operational requirements.
  • Lead the execution and continuous improvement of L2L workflows, ensuring maintenance processes are standardized, effective, and aligned with operational goals
  • Conduct regular check-ins with Area Managers and Operations Leadership to align on performance and priorities.

Qualifications/Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plant maintenance and engineering.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong desire to drive company philosophy, goals, and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment capabilities.
  • Experience with Roll forming, stamping or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to delegate and promote team growth.
  • Ability to coordinate work activities and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
