Job Description
Mount Holyoke College, a highly respected member of NCAA Division III, is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated individual to join our Athletics department as a Part-Time Assistant Track & Field Coach. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a dynamic student-athlete community by fostering both athletic excellence and personal growth within a competitive, inclusive, and values-driven program.
The Assistant Coach will collaborate closely with the Head Coach and student leaders, supporting all aspects of program administration throughout the academic year. This role requires availability for evening and weekend commitments for practices, competitions, and recruiting events.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach assigned event groups during practices and competitions (throws experience strongly preferred).
- Ensure all training sessions and competitive environments adhere to proper safety standards and best practices within the sport.
- Assist the Head Coach with recruiting efforts, including communicating with prospective student-athletes in full compliance with NCAA Division III regulations.
- Support and help monitor the academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being of all track & field student-athletes.
- Assist with the maintenance, organization, and inventory of event-specific equipment.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of home track & field meets and events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to supporting and developing student-athletes.
- Passion for the sport and dedication to athlete development.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to teach and coach highly talented scholar-athletes in a rigorous academic environment.
- Demonstrated cultural competence working with a diverse student body.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of track & field (throws experience preferred).
- Competitive track & field experience.
- Previous coaching experience.
Hire Rate: $20.00 / Hour
