ALS Coal are looking for a Laboratory Assistant who can work a permanent part-time position based at the Callide Mine site. If you have a drive to produce quality results, join our team!

This role is on a Family Friendly roster, lifestyle roster.

Your day-to-day

  • Conducting routine coal sampling and testing
  • A range of physical tests including, sizing, crushing, dividing samples
  • Coal Preparation
  • Despatch – Loading and unloading samples from various plant streams
  • Day to day Laboratory duties
  • Assisting with sample preparation and analysis
  • Maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols
  • Collaborating with team members across different sites as required
  • Travel to other mine sites as part of the shift
  • Manual handling

The Essentials

  • Previous experience in a Laboratory or mine setting would be advantageous not essential
  • Can do attitude is a must
  • Flexible and adaptable to work extra shifts
  • A strong focus on safety & Quality
  • Ability work alone and un-supervised at times.
  • Driver's License
  • Must be able to wear full PPE
  • Good Organisation and Communication Skills
