The mission of the Cloud and AI Engineering is to increase productivity and accelerate delivery of software and services for both Woven by Toyota and the larger Toyota organization as a whole. We do this by building and integrating best of breed cutting-edge technologies to help engineering teams go faster, while emphasizing safety. By providing modern, agile and transparent services to our customers, we aim to realize Woven by Toyota’s vision of ”Mobility to Love, Safety to Live”.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer with deep experience in Cloud Governance, infrastructure, and DevOps. You will help ensure our services and infrastructure are designed, operated, and continuously improved to the highest standards of security, reliability, and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable and passionate about secure technology infrastructure, automation, data-driven continuous improvement, and modern software development, and brings a strong customer-first mindset to everything they do.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Architect public cloud environments and account vending services for multiple engineering teams using Infrastructure-as-Code, following industry best practices
Select, implement, and propose appropriate tools to monitor and govern cloud infrastructure in close collaboration with Security and FinOps teams
Review, refine, and maintain the existing codebase and deployment pipelines
Support engineering teams with infrastructure needs and issues, including data storage, networking, and compute performance
Design, configure, and handle escalations for Jira Service Management and Atlassian Cloud organization
Mentor, coach, and support junior team members as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
Experience writing code in Python, Go, Java, Javascript, Shell or a similar language
Experience architecting, deploying, operating solutions and network built on AWS, or GCP
Experience governing public cloud environment and/or tools like GitHub
Ability to analyze requirements, design and implement solutions to automate routine tasks
Strong interest in platform engineering (and/or SRE) topics like automation, application/platform management, performance assessment and monitoring, and more
Ability to speak and write in English

NICE TO HAVES

Have hands-on experience with Cloud Native tools/technologies, Kubernetes, container, Infrastructure as Code
Have hands-on experience with troubleshooting and incident management
Have previous experience in an SRE or Platform Engineer role
Professional certification for public cloud like AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Experience managing Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, or Jira Service Management
Ability to speak and write in Japanese
