About The Role

As a Dishwasher at Chartwell, you’ll be a key part of the Dining Services team, ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly, and our residents enjoy a safe, pleasant dining experience. Your reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork will help us maintain the high standards our residents deserve.

What You’ll Do

Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment by hand or in an industrial dishwasher
Keep kitchen equipment, floors, and work areas clean and sanitized
Empty garbage bins and take waste to the proper disposal area
Keep storage and utility rooms tidy and sanitary
Help with receiving and storing food supplies as needed

What You’ll Bring

Secondary school education or equivalent
Food Handler certification (training provided if needed)
Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience, preferably in a retirement residence or hospitality setting
Teamwork skills and good communication skills to interact with colleagues and residents
A customer-focused mindset and commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient work environment

Additional Requirements

Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment while standing for extended periods
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, bend, push, and pull
Manual dexterity to handle tools and kitchen equipment safely
Willingness to wear personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures
Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
