About The Role

Pay: $17-$19/ hour
Summary
- The Coating Operator is responsible for applying coatings, both powder or solvent based or other
- finishes to manufactured parts using various equipment and processes. The Coating Operator
- ensures parts meet quality, safety, and production standards.
Essential Functions
- Apply coatings according to production specifications and work instructions
- Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and finish requirements
- Prepare surfaces before coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, blasting as required)
- Read and interpret job orders and coating specifications
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload parts onto coating lines or workstations
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
- Identify and report coating defects or equipment issues
- Maintain the cleanliness of the area
- Adhere to all safety rules, PPE requirements including full face respirator, and company policies
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
Education/Experience
- Experience with coating or spray painting, including powder coating, both with manual and automatic systems
- 1-3 years’ experience completing warehouse tasks
- Experience in a warehouse/distribution center specializing in the waterworks industry or related products
- Experience with powder coating
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of coating processes and surface preparation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Ability to use precision measuring tools
- Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Basic mathematics
- Basic computer experience
- Ability to pay attention to detail
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Able to lift and move up to 45 pounds during a 10-hour shift
- Frequently required to stand, bend, and lift during a 10-hour shift
- Repetitive use of hands and arms
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective gear
- Able to work in various climate conditions
- Exposure to moving machinery, heavy materials, and grinding equipment
- Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required
- Must pass background and drug screen
