What we need

The System Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating , and supporting Symbotic’s advanced automation system to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance across robotic vehicles, automated adapters, vertical lifts, and supporting software components. Based at operations site, this role is critical to daily site execution by coordinating system activity, responding to stoppages, and partnering with operations, maintenance, engineering, and support teams to maintain optimal uptime. The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, highly automated warehouse environment.

What you’ll do

• Monitor, operate , and troubleshoot automation systems, robotics, and the autonomous bot fleet to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
• Respond to system alerts, stoppages, and operational disruptions while coordinating production flow and minimizing downtime.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Customer teams, and Tiered Support to resolve issues, maintain throughput, and maximize system uptime.
• Ensure compliance with Symbotic, customer, and site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support production scheduling, order fulfillment, inventory movement, and overall operational readiness.
• Troubleshoot software, automation, and equipment issues; identify corrective actions and escalate technical concerns as needed.
• Monitor dashboards, system queues, routing logic, and key performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.
• Utilize automation software, diagnostic tools, SQL queries, log analysis, and basic scripting to support system monitoring and root cause investigations.
• Coordinate workflow planning, maintenance activities, and system readiness efforts with site leadership and maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation, operational reports, and records of system events, troubleshooting activities, and corrective actions.
• Serve as an on-site systems resource by developing expertise in automation workflows, robotics operations, and system functionality.
• Train and support operators on troubleshooting, standard work, and basic equipment procedures.
• Perform additional duties assigned .
• English literacy preferred; may be required depending on site, customer, and business needs in Mexico.

Our Environment

• Site-based position
• The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms
• The employee frequently needs to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches. This includes tasks that require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout and fall protection safety protocols.
• You will need to climb steep stairs to access the structure and may be required to regularly walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation setup.
• You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground
• Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

Con base en el sitio de operaciones , este rol es fundamental para la ejecución diaria de las operaciones al coordinar la actividad del sistema , responder a interrupciones y colaborar con los equipos de Operaciones , Mantenimiento , Ingeniería y Soporte para mantener una disponibilidad óptima del sistema . El candidato ideal es técnicamente curioso, orientado a los detalles y capaz de resolver problemas , comunicarse de manera efectiva y tomar decisiones acertadas en un entorno de almacén altamente automatizado y de rápido ritmo .

Lo que harás

• Monitorear , operar y solucionar problemas de sistemas de automatización , robótica y la flota de robots autónomos para garantizar operaciones seguras , confiables y eficientes .
• Responder a alertas del sistema , interrupciones y problemas operativos mientras coordina el flujo de producción y minimiza los tiempos de inactividad .
• Colaborar con los equipos de Operaciones , Mantenimiento , Ingeniería, Clientes y Soporte Escalonado para resolver problemas , mantener el rendimiento operativo y maximizar la disponibilidad del sistema .
• Garantizar el cumplimiento de las políticas , procedimientos y requisitos normativos de seguridad de Symbotic, del cliente y del sitio.
• Apoyar la programación de la producción , el cumplimiento de pedidos , el movimiento de inventario y la preparación operativa general.
• Diagnosticar problemas de software, automatización y equipos ; identificar acciones correctivas y escalar problemas técnicos cuando sea necesario .
• Monitorear paneles de control, colas del sistema , lógica de enrutamiento e indicadores clave de desempeño para identificar cuellos de botella y optimizar el rendimiento .
• Utilizar software de automatización , herramientas de diagnóstico , consultas SQL, análisis de registros y scripts básicos para respaldar el monitoreo del sistema y las investigaciones de causa raíz .
• Coordinar la planificación de flujos de trabajo , actividades de mantenimiento y esfuerzos de preparación del sistema junto con el liderazgo del sitio y los equipos de mantenimiento .
• Mantener documentación precisa , reportes operativos y registros de eventos del sistema , actividades de resolución de problemas y acciones correctivas .
• Actuar como recurso experto en sistemas dentro del sitio, desarrollando experiencia en flujos de trabajo de automatización , operaciones robóticas y funcionalidad del sistema .
• Capacitar y apoyar a los operadores en resolución de problemas , procedimientos estándar de trabajo y procedimientos básicos de equipos .
• Realizar funciones adicionales según se asignen .
• Se prefiere alfabetización en inglés ; puede ser requerida dependiendo del sitio, cliente y necesidades del negocio en México.

Nuestro entorno

• Posición basada en sitio.
• El empleado deberá caminar con frecuencia y utilizar las manos y los brazos para alcanzar objetos .
• El empleado frecuentemente necesitará trabajar a alturas de hasta 45 pies (13.7 metros) y en espacios confinados de hasta 24 pulgadas (61 cm) de ancho. Esto incluye tareas que requieren permanecer de pie, subir escaleras , mantener el equilibrio , inclinarse , arrodillarse , agacharse o gatear .
• El empleado deberá levantar y/o mover regularmente hasta 50 libras (22.7 kg).
• Debe cumplir con todos los requisitos y protocolos de seguridad , incluidos , entre otros , los procedimientos de Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) y protección contra caídas .
• Será necesario subir escaleras empinadas para acceder a la estructura y puede requerirse subir y bajar escaleras regularmente para desplazarse dentro del sistema automatizado .
• Trabajará regularmente cerca de barandales ubicados a gran altura .
• Estará sujeto a condiciones ambientales protegidas de la intemperie , aunque no necesariamente de los cambios de temperatura .
• Debe ser capaz de trabajar en temperat uras que oscilan entre 32 °F y 105 °F (0 °C a 40.5 °C) .
