What we need

The Cell Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining Symbotic’s automated adapters and supporting equipment to ensure optimal system readiness and performance. This role plays a key part in daily production by performing system checks, managing automated flow, troubleshooting stoppages, and using Human/Machine Interface (HMI) terminals to safely and efficiently operate equipment . The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of supporting automation uptime in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do

• Utilize HMI screens, system dashboards, and basic PLC status information to identify equipment conditions and support troubleshooting efforts.
• Monitor automated equipment and system performance to support safe and efficient operations.
• Perform pre-operational checks to ensure equipment is ready for production.
• Prepare pallets and materials for induction into the automated system.
• Respond to equipment stoppages and system alerts by following established recovery procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and comply with company, customer, and site safety requirements.
• Support system uptime through suspect removal, equipment recovery, and basic troubleshooting activities.
• Identify , document, and escalate equipment, system, or safety concerns.
• Communicate production-impacting issues to operations and site leadership.
• Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and housekeeping activities to maintain equipment readiness.
• Assist Automation Technicians with troubleshooting and system recovery efforts as needed.
• Recover robotic vehicles within the automation structure when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S standards.
• Use effective communication to coordinate work with team members and leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

• T echnical training preferred (or equivalent work experience with automated equipment ).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in production automation, or warehouse environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Proficiency in performing system maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication and tolerance checking.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize uptime and throughput within an automated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently using procedures, manuals, and operational documentation and troubleshoot minor system issues .

Our Environment

• Site-based position .
• The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms .
• The employee frequently needs to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches. This includes tasks that require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds .
• Must adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout and fall protection safety protocols.
• You will need to climb steep stairs to access the structure and may be required to regularly walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation setup.
• You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground .
• Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

• Utilizar pantallas HMI, paneles de control del sistema e información básica del estado de PLC para identificar condiciones del equipo y apoyar los esfuerzos de resolución de problemas .
• Monitorear los equipos automatizados y el rendimiento del sistema para respaldar operaciones seguras y eficientes .
• Realizar inspecciones previas a la operación para garantizar que el equipo esté listo para la producción .
• Preparar tarimas y materiales para su ingreso al sistema automatizado .
• Responder a paros de equipos y alertas del sistema siguiendo los procedimientos de recuperación establecidos .
• Cumplir con todos los procedimientos de seguridad , incluyendo Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), así como con los requisitos de seguridad de la empresa , el cliente y el sitio.
• Apoyar la disponibilidad del sistema mediante la remoción de productos sospechosos , recuperación de equipos y actividades básicas de resolución de problemas .
• Identificar , documentar y escalar problemas relacionados con equipos , sistemas o seguridad .
• Comunicar a Operaciones y al liderazgo del sitio cualquier problema que impacte la producción .
• Realizar actividades rutinarias de limpieza , inspección y orden para mantener la disponibilidad de los equipos .
• Apoyar a los Técnicos de Automatización en actividades de diagnóstico y recuperación del sistema cuando sea necesario .
• Recuperar vehículos robóticos dentro de la estructura de automatización cuando se requiera .
• Mantener un área de trabajo limpia y organizada siguiendo los estándares 5S.
• Utilizar una comunicación efectiva para coordinar actividades con compañeros de equipo y liderazgo .
• Realizar otras funciones según se asignen .

• Lo que necesitarás

• Se prefiere formación técnica (o experiencia laboral equivalente con equipos automatizados ).
• Mínimo 1 año de experiencia en automatización de producción o entornos de almacén .
• Gran atención al detalle y compromiso con la seguridad .
• Dominio de tareas de mantenimiento del sistema como limpieza , lubricación y verificación de tolerancias .
• Capacidad para priorizar tareas con el fin de maximizar la disponibilidad y productividad en un entorno automatizado .
• Capacidad demostrada para trabajar de forma independiente utilizando procedimientos , manuales y documentación operativa , así como para resolver problemas menores del sistema .

• Posición basada en sitio.
• El empleado deberá caminar con frecuencia y alcanzar objetos utilizando las manos y los brazos .
• El empleado frecuentemente necesitará trabajar a alturas de hasta 45 pies (13.7 metros) y en espacios confinados de hasta 24 pulgadas (61 cm) de ancho. Esto incluye tareas que requieren permanecer de pie, subir , mantener el equilibrio , inclinarse , arrodillarse , agacharse o gatear .
• El empleado deberá levantar y/o mover regularmente hasta 50 libras (22.7 kg).
