Job Summary
We are seeking a Consumer Experience Planner to join our Hardware Enablement team. This role will help transform consumer insights and emerging technologies into innovative, differentiated hardware experiences.
The successful candidate will collaborate with hardware planners, software planning team, engineering teams, technology providers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to incubate new concepts, develop proof-of-concept prototypes, strengthen hero product stories, and drive experience-related deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with hardware planners to incubate innovation concepts based on consumer needs, market opportunities, and emerging technologies.
- Coordinate with internal engineering stakeholders and external technology providers to evaluate opportunities, align requirements, and support concept development.
- Facilitate ideation activities and translate promising ideas into workflows, experience concepts, and proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Define and amplify hero product stories by connecting hardware capabilities with meaningful consumer benefits and differentiated experiences.
- Develop clear experience narratives, use cases, journey maps, and supporting materials for stakeholder alignment and decision-making.
- Sync with software planning team to ensure the experiences are continuously aligning the unified experience target across consumer product lines.
- Follow product lifecycle milestones and work with cross-functional teams to ensure that agreed deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Identify opportunities to improve user journeys, workflows, and overall product experiences.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders and users, synthesize findings, and continuously refine proposed concepts.
- Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- Four-year or Graduate Degree with 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as design thinking, user experience, service or product design, workflow optimization, innovation planning, or a related field.
- Experience participating in cross-functional projects involving design, engineering, product planning, or technology partners.
- Experience developing concepts, prototypes, user journeys, workflows, or product experience narratives.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of design-thinking and human-centered design principles.
- Ability to translate consumer needs and technical capabilities into actionable experience concepts.
- Strong ideation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective project coordination and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Clear written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to organize multiple workstreams and deliver against product milestones.
- Comfortable working with both creative and technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, curious, proactive, and open to experimentation and iteration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, workshops, or concept validation.
- Ability to create compelling product stories and communicate the value of new experiences to varied audiences.
- Understanding of product development processes and lifecycle milestones.
